Amtrak Cascades offers four daily trains between Seattle and Vancouver, Canada, 12 daily trains between Seattle and Portland; with one extending north to Vancouver, Canada, and one extending south to Eugene, Oregon, for a total of four daily trains between Portland and Eugene, Oregon. Amtrak Cascades food and beverage service offers yummy and savory hot food plus beer, wine and spirits.

All trains stop at all stations. Most station stops are only two minutes.

Amtrak Cascades trains connect cities along the I-5 corridor including Seattle, Portland, and Eugene, and to Vancouver, BC, in Canada. 

Daily round trip train service includes:

  • Twelve daily trains between Seattle and Portland; six round trips
  • Four daily trains between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, Canada; two round trips
  • Four daily trains between Portland and Eugene; two round trips
  • Connecting buses

WSDOT invests in Amtrak Cascades

  • Work is completed on $800 million in rail improvements resulting in faster, more reliable Amtrak Cascades service.

Amtrak Cascades is funded primarily by ticket revenues, with the balance of operating costs paid for the states of Washington and Oregon. 

Washington and Oregon strive to:

  • Provide an efficient, safe, and cost-effective alternative to highway and air travel.
  • Support future growth and operate an efficient, high-quality intercity passenger rail service that helps minimize the need for state subsidies.
  • Be sensitive to community and environmental impacts, and business costs.
  • Integrate with local roadway, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian transportation networks.
