  • Explore the Cultural Cascades! Amtrak Cascades links the cities of Vancouver, British Columbia; Seattle; Tacoma; Portland; and Eugene, forming the Cultural Cascades region that provides a gateway to endless exploration. Information about the most up-to-date events is available online.
  • Enjoy historic Gastown and vibrant Chinatown within walking distance (or a short taxi ride) from the train station.
  • Step out of the train station and look across the street to find the building that looks like a giant white ball. It's Science World—with hands-on science demonstrations that aren't just for kids (604-443-7443).
  • Take SkyTrain, Vancouver's elevated rapid transit system, just two stops to the downtown business district. There you'll find shopping at the Granville Mall and fine art at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Waterfront station, at the end of the SkyTrain line, serves as the connection point to the Seabus and cruise ship terminals.
  • Enjoy Stanley Park’s horse-drawn tours, swimming, cricket, bicycling, lawn bowling, and more. The park is also home to the Vancouver Aquarium. To get there, take SkyTrain to Burrard Station, walk one block north to Pender and Thurlow, and catch the #19 bus to Stanley Park (approximately 20 minutes).
  • Look for adventure farther afield by catching a motorcoach at Pacific Central Station to skiing at Whistler or bungee jumping at Nanaimo. Contact Explore BC! 604-689-1805 for tour packages and information.
  • Enjoy a full weekend getaway by taking the Vancouver-Seattle-Victoria triangle tour. Travel between Seattle and Victoria aboard the Victoria Clipper; between Victoria and Vancouver on the BC Ferry; and between Vancouver and Seattle aboard Amtrak Cascades.
