Washington's capitol. Visit the majestic capitol dome
building and listen to a bill being debated on the
legislative floor. The station was built through
volunteers’ hard work and donations and is still staffed
entirely by volunteers and rail buffs.

Intercity Transit Route 64
provides bus service between the Amtrak Station
and Downtown Olympia, serving the Lacey Transit
Center on the way. The bus trip to Downtown
Olympia is 42 minutes one-way. Buses leave the
station every hour for all trains except the 14
(Coast Starlight),
which arrives at 6:15 p.m.
Intercity Transit Route 94
provides hourly service between the Centennial
Station and Yelm, Monday through Saturday.

- Tour
the Capitol
Dome, completed in 1928 and standing 267 feet
above a bluff overlooking Capitol Lake, one of tallest
domed masonry buildings in the United States. Call 360-902-8880 for visitor information and tour times.
- Tour
the Washington
State Capitol Museum, adjacent to the capitol
grounds at 211 West 21st Street. "Hands-on" exploring
for those interested in the region's historic Native
American and early white settlements. Call
360-753-2580 for museum hours.
- Enjoy
mountains of purple beets, mounds of red-skinned
potatoes, sugary confections, pretty garden perennials
and whimsical wooden toys that wait for you at the
Olympia Farmers Market,
the second largest in the state.
- Enjoy
music at the Washington
Center for the Performing Arts, which hosts
the Olympia Symphony Orchestra and dozens of other
community theater, music, and dance groups. Many
national acts stop here, too.
